About Us !
Graeme Maccallum (a retired Naval Executive Officer) and his wife Brigitte started their Caribbean based lives as a professional charter yacht crew and had the opportunity to work on a variety of yachts prior to joining AnnaCay, Oyster 66-01 in 2000
After initial sea-trials, outfitting and a successful trans-Atlantic crossing. AnnaCay welcomed the warm waters of the Caribbean. A two-year period onboard AnnaCay developed her as one of the most successful charter yachts in the Caribbean, and one of the first for Oyster. The period allowed Graeme to develop an intimate knowledge of Oyster yachts, their complex systems and to also manage first-hand the warranty and maintenance of a new design. She enjoyed action from the BVI’s to as far South as Trinidad
This period onboard started the relationship that Graeme has developed with Oyster since the start of the millennium. As an informal alliance to support the vessels that Graeme has grown to love; to a more formal appointment of Caribbean Yacht Management (CYM) as an authorized Oyster Marine Service Partrner. Graeme has assisting numerous owners in the build and outfitting and then subsequent management of their vessels (Stuart Ross who has owned 4 Oysters, and John McTigue who has owned two, are examples of very satisfied clients). CYM has also supported and helped run the BVI regattas in 2010, 2012 and 2015 and Graeme has taken part in each Caribbean regatta from 2004 to 2019.
CYM is based in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and has offices in Road Town adjacent to Village Cay Marina and Nanny Cay Marina. CYM has since 2001 provided shore support services to crews and owners of a vast number of the Oyster fleet, 71 Oysters in fact have received service and care over the past two decades. CYM prior to IRMA in 2017 had a permanent fleet of 15 yachts and added a further 7 on a permanent seasonal basis; as well as numerous others that fleetingly dash through their waters and need assistance.
CYM has grown its portfolio of services to 4 divisions that offer crew/owner admin support, charter management, account management services, mail and internet services, provisioning services, absentee management, and maintenance services; cleaning services and an industry accepted hurricane plan for the winter months that allows owners to keep their yachts in warmer climes.
